{First off, today is the first post I have actually tried to incorporate legit photos and for that I am proud. On to the post...}
Today when I got out of class I received a phone call from my Mom saying, in assorted terms, that we were going to lunch so I said HECK YEAH and booked it home. We ended up eating at this local Japanese place that I have ate at more times than I can count, but for Mom it's still a new haunt since she went for the first time last week. Regardless, I can never tire of good food, no matter what kind it is, which is always my problem - hardy har.
After eating we went to this "antique" store... yeah, nothing antique about that place. They should rename it a junk store. Harsh, but true. So after our initial disappointment I mentioned going to Salvation Army since I had only been there once in all my time in Augusta, but was overruled by Madre. But truth be told, that is beyond fine because we finally got to go to "Mema Had One"! Mema is pretty much my new favorite vintage/antique shop here in town and for very good reason. They have the perfect mixture that will appease my Mom's primitive decorating style as well as my love of all things modern/vintage. Here is a picture of one of the rooms:
And here is a eight drawer letterpress letter holder and organizer. With ALL ORIGINAL LETTERS. If I had $400 I would buy it in a heartbeat! It definitely pulled on my heartstrings.
It's pretty much amazing. I can't wait to go back and spend some money!! As I was waiting on my Mom to decide on a (freaking) crock I stumbled upon Brooke's Christmas present which I cannot wait to give her because she will literally cry from the sight of this vintage goody that is perfect for her. I snatched it up so fast I'm sure I almost broke it. I OBVIOUSLY can't post the picture, but I wish I could!!
Oh and for a precious moment, here is my cat Max playing/investigating my Mom's new crock that she's going to use for our kitchen trashcan. Pretty smart isn't she?
For those of you that don't know, my Mom is a big to-do in the Primitive Blogging world. Our house has been in magazines, pinned all over pintrest, and has been investigated by her followers down to the exact paint color a box on our mantle is. It's crazy to think you're Mom's a celebrity in some fashion. I seriously could get kidnapped by these people one day to tell all her secrets. No joke.
I hope you're all having a fabulous Tuesday! Be sure to come read "Whoa and What Wednesday" tomorrow :)
